Shopping at Delhi
Delhi is a shopping heaven for shopping freaks. Visitors from all over India as well as abroad take pleasure in their shopping at Delhi. Jewelries, carpets, invaluable stones to bamboo works, handicrafts, garments, potteries from all the states of India are available in major shopping spots in Delhi.
Chandni chowk:
Chandni Chowk is the oldest shopping hub for Delhi citizens. One of the most famous wholesale and trade markets of India, Chandni Chowk is more than 300 years old, is known for its sarees and jeweleries, made of silver. It was established in Mughal period1650, when Mughal Emperor Shahjahan shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi, as an accompaniment to the fort. Jahanara, daughter of Shahjahan, is credited with designing this market, where an arcade of shops was built in a half-moon shape around a pool.
Karol Bagh:
Karol Bagh market is one of the well-liked and oldest markets of Delhi. Famous for imported products such as cosmetics, watches, cell phones, footwear etc. This middle-class market deals competitively-priced consumer goods, from kid swear to kitchenware.
