Mahabaleshwar - Place to Escape in the Indian Summer!
Located roughly at the distance of 120 kms to the southwest of Pune and 285 kms from Mumbai, is Mahableshwar, the most desirable hill station. It lies in the Western Ghats of the Maharashtra state.
This hill station came into existence in 1829-30, when it became the summer resort for the British Raj. Earlier it was known as Malcolm Peth, but later on it derived its name from the deity ‘Mahabali’ whose shrine is situated at the old Mahableshwar, and is one of the main attractions for the devotees and tourists.
Mahableshwar gives the panoramic view of the peaks and the surrounding area. It offers you the revitalizing atmosphere, where Mother Nature is at its full bloom.
The best time to visit this hill station is from the month of October to June. Preferably avoid rainy season as it rains heavily in Mahableshwar, you would get stuck up in your hotel room and will not be able to enjoy the attractive spots of Mahableshwar.
Highlights of Mahableshwar:
