Kempty Falls is popular among the tourists who visit Mussoorie and this cascading waterfall has successfully lured tourists from the very beginning. This place was developed as a tourist spot by John Mekinan in year 1835. The name Kempty is derived from 'Camp-tea', as the Britishers would organize their tea parties here. Kempty Falls can be reached by hiring taxi or bus, from Dehradun or Mussoorie. It is 15 Km from Mussoorie and 20 Km from Dehradun. Dehradun is the nearest rail head as well as airport.
